Fish Tank Lid

The folks at the Sparta Public Library approached us with the need for a cover on their saltwater fish tank. Previously, the tank would lose a lot of water to splashes and evaporation, thereby throwing off the pH of the tank. Additionally, the splashing made a fair amount of noise, which isn’t ideal for a library.

We used our custom-built CNC CO2 laser to cut a lid from clear acrylic. The lid features a cutout to accommodate a light, and a hinged access panel to allow for feeding and maintenance. Several indexing “corners” were added to prevent the lid from sliding off the top of the tank.

This was a very straightforward job that came out great! We completed the work at no charge to the library, as this is an important institution that does great things for our local community.

The new lid sitting on the fish tank looks very nice
